High Meadows is an International Baccalaureate World School, inspiring children for over 30 years to think critically, learn creatively, act globally and live compassionately. In 2005, grades 2-3 at High Meadows were given an assignment which resulted in parent Kathy Shoji (top row) helping her daughter’s class get a Peace Pole – planted in Spring 2006. Dr. Peter van den Dungan (top row) from the Peace Studies program at Bradford University in England, came to visit Atlanta to meet High Meadows youth, and dialogued with them about their motivations for doing the Peace Pole.
